A furniture & Home Builder Transitions into Log Kayak Racks

Owner, Kurt Kinnunen, started in the furniture and home building industry over 30 years ago building log homes and furnishings. Each piece was unique, rustic and handcrafted from solid Reclaimed Heartpine that was hundreds of years old.

It was through the furniture and home building business that Kurt realized a need for custom boat storage on lake properties, resorts and the like, so he started creating original log racks for kayaks, canoes, SUPs and custom boats made from 100% northern white cedar.

After realizing there was high demand for boat racks, Hitch Exclusives expanded and started making storage solutions for a variety of sports: skiing, snowboarding, biking, and more. All of these products can be purchased through two websites: logkayakrack.com and logskirack.com.
